Beijing Chunxuanmao Heyuan Senior Community
AA Design

Short description
AA Design approached the development of this wellness project from a new perspective, constructing the entire design framework around the themes of "joyful socializing, value reconstruction, healthy ecology, and shared experience." They aim to continue traditional culture and spirit through contemporary methods and perceptions, rediscovering the deep historical and cultural background of Beijing. By extracting the essence from a wealth of cultural treasures, they are establishing a unique wellness cultural space system. Centered around the concept of "return," the design emphasizes cultural return, community return, lifestyle return, detail return, and nature return, allowing the elderly to regain the warmth of home.
Different spatial themes such as "mountain and water landscape, scholarly conversations, gourmet delicacies, musical enjoyment, and listening to the wind" correspond respectively to wellness of the body, mind, health, personality, and interests, comprehensively reshaping the retirement living model and helping the elderly rediscover the joy of life. The design encompasses elderly-friendly dimensions, retirement attitudes, wellness needs, social methods, interaction with children, and value recognition, integrating a distinctly Chinese elder lifestyle model within the Shenyang plan, helping the elderly regain hope in life.
The design team has created a space that blends traditional Chinese and modern aesthetics, integrating historical culture with contemporary life to meet the diverse needs of the elderly and high-quality living scenarios. They aim to create a shared community that combines humanity and technology, memory and innovation. In the experience center, they abstractly capture the ripples of flowing water, incorporating the dynamic interplay of light and shadow into the space to solidify the moment of water's movement, conveying the richness of life.
In traditional poetic dwelling, the space exudes lightness and elegance, reflecting the leisure and refined interests of the elderly, showcasing the charm of retirement spaces and the beauty of time. The overall project considers accessibility factors such as convenience, safety, ease of care, flexibility, and diversity in space usage, avoiding rigid functionality of any single space. The daily activity rooms are designed according to the different interests of the elderly, including a TV room, reading room, painting and calligraphy room, handicraft room, and live-streaming room. As a multifunctional public space, it comprehensively considers various aspects of elderly entertainment and activities.
