Custom Designed Artful XLERATOR® Hand Dryers by Artists For Humanity (AFH)
Excel Dryer, Inc.

Short description
In an innovative fusion of art and technology, Excel Dryer, an industry-leading, global hand dryer manufacturer, has developed a design solution that bridges the gap between functionality and beauty in commercial restrooms.
We collaborated with nine teen artists from Boston-based Artists for Humanity (AFH), harnessing their talent to create stunningly original art for our XLERATOR® Hand Dryers’ covers. This initiative gave the young artists a platform to showcase their creativity as we reimagined the aesthetic role of restroom fixtures. By leveraging our advanced digital image technology, we transferred the diverse designs onto the hand dryer covers, transforming them into eye-catching pieces of operative art that adorn the restrooms throughout AFH’s LEED Platinum-certified EpiCenter.
Beyond their striking visual appeal, these XLERATOR hand dryers embody the pinnacle of efficiency and hygiene, elements that are indispensable in environments where creativity flourishes and cleanliness is paramount. The integration of high-speed, energy-efficient technology ensures that the artistic process is complemented by an equally refined approach to hygiene, catering to the dynamic needs of a creative workspace.
However, it is the transformation of these hand dryers into bespoke pieces of art that truly redefines their purpose and presence within the restroom space. This fusion of functionality with aesthetics challenges and expands the conventional boundaries of restroom design, inviting users to engage with the space on a deeper, more meaningful level.
Our innovation has given commercial restrooms, often marked by utilitarian design and overlooked in terms of decorative appeal, the opportunity to become impressive spaces that reflect the ethos of the organizations they serve. We believe the project sets a new standard for the integration of art in commercial products while offering other companies a template for creative contribution to communities.
