With the development of modern society, this urbanizing land is covered by cement. Human and nature are divided into two dimensions. We might as well slow down and find the key to resolving this problem from the oriental wisdom. The project stands next to the lake, and the design introduces "water" in the surrounding nature as a key expression. It integrates the humanistic thoughts of Taoism that "Among All Life Human Beings Rank Highest", understand the ideal life of elites, and builds a residence with harmonious coexistence between human and nature. The theme of the project is "water", but it does not simply use water as a design element. Instead, it uses the characteristics of water “flow” and “encircle” to connect the upper and lower floor of the space. The space is entered from the first floor, and the design implies the yin and yang theory. The sofa background wall is made of light-colored iron wood veneer, carved and polished to create an undulating shape, showing a three-dimensional and gentle circle. This round shape echoes the mirrored square coffee table, which is a perfect combination of roundness and squareness, rigidity and softness. As we go to the lower floors like water flows down, and the negative 1- and negative 2-floors fully show the owner’s cultural heritage and artistic pursuit. The pace of life begins to slow down from the Mingde Gewu Hall, so that the human body can understand the true nature of life and return to its original intention. In the public space, soft furnishings emphasize atmosphere and simple design. It interpret the refined, elegant and low-key lifestyle with the sense of quality of the utensils themselves. As we go up like water vapor upwards, the space accommodates the diverse personalities of family members. The upper 2-3 floors of the building are separate bedrooms for family members, which continue the understanding of the material relationship in the public space. The design conceives different space moods, and uses bolder and richer colors to collide to match the personalities of different characters.
