Our project, Tobis African Restaurant, redefines the dining experience by seamlessly blending African vibrancy with contemporary elegance. Nestled in the heart of Maidstone, this captivating restaurant celebrates cultural diversity through immersive design elements and sensory storytelling. From vibrant colours to traditional motifs, every detail invites guests on a journey of joy, warmth, and celebration of life.

Our involvement in this project began with an in-depth consultation with the client to understand their vision, objectives, and requirements. This initial phase involved extensive discussions to determine the project scope, budget, and timeline. We conducted thorough research into African culture, exploring traditional patterns, motifs, and colour palettes to inform the design concept.
Once the concept was finalized, our team of architects and interior designers began the process of space planning and conceptualization. This involved creating detailed floor plans, 3D renderings, and mood boards to visualize the design and layout of the restaurant. Our aim was to create a space that not only celebrated African heritage but also offered a memorable and immersive dining experience for guests.
Throughout the design process, we maintained open and transparent communication with the client, soliciting feedback and incorporating their input into the design. Regular meetings and presentations were held to ensure alignment with the client's vision and objectives.

Key Design Elements:
• Cultural Celebration: The design pays homage to African heritage through vibrant colours, traditional patterns, and cultural motifs. Monochrome chevron tiles adorn the floor, reminiscent of traditional African textiles, while custom neon fixtures display messages of positivity, adding a modern twist to the space.
• Immersive Storytelling: Every design element tells a story, inviting guests on an immersive journey of cultural exploration. From the arrangement of furniture to the selection of artwork and décor pieces, each detail contributes to the narrative, creating a multi-sensory experience that captivates the imagination.
• Contemporary Elegance: While celebrating African culture, the design also embraces contemporary elegance, with sleek black marble tables and velvet upholstered seating adding a touch of sophistication to the space. The juxtaposition of traditional and modern elements creates a dynamic and visually striking ambiance.

Interior Fittings and Furniture:
Our comprehensive range of interior fittings and furniture includes:
• Various styles of seating, including armless chairs, chairs with armrests, lounge-style couches, and black leather chairs for the top floor.
• Black marble tables for a touch of elegance, complemented by sustainable hardwood tables for a contrasting texture.
• LED fixtures and custom neon lighting fixtures for energy-efficient illumination and vibrant ambiance.
• African-inspired artwork and décor pieces to enhance the cultural ambiance, along with recycled glassware and sustainable tableware for an eco-friendly dining experience.

Sustainable Initiatives:
At Tobis, sustainability is a key consideration, and several initiatives were incorporated to minimize environmental impact:
