Biome

Jouin Manku

Short description

Iconic building of the 1960s, the old SMABTP headquarters by architects Fernand and Francis Leroy, Raymond Lopez and Henry Pottier has been revisited under the impetus of SFL.

This new project, called Biome, is ambitious and human, it takes its place in the future of office architecture and outlines the new iconic architecture of the district. We were invited to undertake the complete architectural conception, then to develop the project in partnership with the Architect Yrieix Martineau.

"From the earth emerged a new structure, the exoskeleton of the Zola Pavilion. Like two trees of different species, in the heart of a wooded garden, the two buildings dialogue with each other. Together, they create a new ecosystem in the heart of the fifteenth arrondissement of Paris. A thin footbridge connects them and spans a green flow. Nature enters inside through its fluid forms, the course is thought as a choreography, it makes the relationship to space, natural and instinctive."
