Chicland Hotel
VTN Architects (Vo Trong Nghia Architects)
Project description
Chicland Hotel is a resort built to accommodate guests to feel the light from the sun and the wind and the fresh air of the Da Nang Sea. Located in the beautiful coastal city of Da Nang in the center of Vietnam, the hotel has 153 rooms on 21 floors covered by three vertical green facades forming a small forest. A green hotel really stands out and is different from the surrounding buildings and friendly to nature. - Da Nang's tropical climate means it experiences both a strong amount of sunlight and heavy rainfalls throughout the year. Therefore, creating vertical green façade systems on high-rise buildings and front of a beach was not easy. Chicland features a vertical facade design with concrete planters stacked on each floor to become sky gardens and green balconies for every room. Each balcony position had to be carefully studied by selecting plants at different levels, appropriate to the characteristics of the soil, water and local trees that are resistant to sea breezes. - The green facade also became the inspiration for the interior design. Furniture and interior materials are made from local or natural material: wood, stone, bamboo, rattan. All space uses maximum glass door systems to provide nature light, view and benefit from greenery facade.
