Howard Johnson Foshan Ancient Castle Hotel

REMAC TY

Short description

Sanshui, a region of natural wonder in Foshan. During the schematic stage, we attempted to recreate and reinterpret the distinctive water landscape. For an irregular location, we attempted to capture fluid and zigzag form in harmony with line and point. We etherealized the building with a flowing rhythm to realize its functions. Consequently, we created a space that encourages dialogue between the architectural position and the landscape, and is merged as one entity.
The layout takes full account of the combination of building volume and the natural environment. A balance between water and landscape is maintained by the design to make the building more airy and accessible. The design language is both abstract and meandering. Combining the volume of pieces enables the building to display virtuality and reality simultaneously. The appropriate use of solid walls and glass walls provides a combination of hardness and softness. The overall shape of the building remains balanced. However, the rooftop design gives the impression of a range of mountains.
A professional BIM is employed by the project to enhance collaboration between different professions and achieve the architectural image of graceful meandering with both hardness and softness. In the design phase of the construction map, we fully considered the characteristics of the 3D visualization of the BIM model to optimize the design in discussion and cooperation among various professions. We really realized the whole process BIM design and construction deepening process of automatic generation and inspection of processing map data, so as to keep the project schedule and design consistency unhindered.
