Short description

The design of Chisinau International Airport focuses on creating distinct and elegant spaces that meet the diverse needs of passengers, seamlessly blending functionality with comfort and sophistication. Green tones are prominently featured throughout the airport, fostering a calming atmosphere that extends from the seating areas in the departure zone to the Green Cafe in the arrival zone. Blue accents are introduced in the upper-floor waiting zone, enhancing the spatial differentiation.
The Aircafe, located on the second floor of the departure hall, offers a dynamic food-court experience with quick-service cafés, an ice cream station, and a children’s playground. At the heart of the space is a bar area, designed for efficient service, with four cash registers and a mini-bakery to cater to a large volume of passengers. A dramatic light installation acts as a visual focal point, drawing attention from both the first and second floors. The installation consists of brass-painted aluminum chains, suspended from a central box, creating an airy, ephemeral effect. Measuring 16m × 16m and weighing 1.5 tons, it adds a striking visual element to the space.
At the same level, Golden Jet Restaurant offers passengers a more private and refined dining experience. Elevated on a podium and separated from the main flow of passengers by a decorative metal façade, the restaurant exudes elegance with its warm color palette of wood, marble, and brass accents. Panoramic windows provide views of the surrounding airport area, while the open bar area at the entrance adds a casual touch to the sophisticated setting. Both the Golden Jet Restaurant and Aircafe are located on the second floor, offering a range of dining options that cater to different needs and moods within the same space.
