PAW HUB
Informal Design
Project description
More and more pets are coming into people's families. A pet may not be able to accompany you for your lifetime, but it will spend its entire life with you. However, China is polarized between those who love pets and those who fear them. Pets are not allowed in indoor public places because complaints and warnings about pets have become a social problem, there are also few places for owners and pets or pet lovers to meet, so we designed PAW HUB, a community space where people and pets can coexist in harmony and warmth. PAW HUB is a mixed-use space that combines pet care, social interaction, pet supply retail, and a coffee bar. At Paw Hub, pets don't live in cold metal cages but in cozy cottages, according to the habits and characteristics of pets, small hills and caves are designed for them to play. Pet owners can meet friends who share the same interests, and the social area has a leash buckle on the seats. The layout of the social areas fully reflects the street landscape. The ubiquitous greenery makes people feel like they are outdoors while being inside. Each separate area is connected to each other by steps or paths. Green plants everywhere make people feel like they are outdoors while being indoors, and each separate area is connected with each other by steps or paths. The patio on the top is scattered with soft film to simulate natural light. With the switch of music and light in the evening, the Cafe immediately becomes a Bar with great atmosphere. The contrasting colors of orange outdoor ceramic tiles delineate the separate social areas and brighten the overall space. All the plants and materials are carefully selected to be environmentally friendly and healthy. PAW HUB hopes to be the first place that pet-owning families want to go except home.
