Short description

With a privileged view of Barigui Park, one of Curitiba’s most iconic landmarks, Sunrise Apartment transforms throughout the day as natural light floods its interiors. The project was conceived as an urban retreat, where architecture and interior design foster well-being and a genuine connection with what truly matters. The 320m² space, originally segmented by a traditional floor plan, was reconfigured to enhance fluidity, integration, and the appreciation of its surroundings.
The apartment’s name is no coincidence. The sunrise, ever-present through the expansive openings, defines the project’s soft color palette and influences how the spaces are experienced. More than just a place to live, this apartment has become an invitation to a slower-paced routine, where time, light, and comfort intertwine in perfect harmony.
The original layout was redefined to better meet the residents’ needs. Four bedrooms were converted into three, allowing for a more generous master suite with an expansive walk-in closet and two bathrooms. This solution provides a balance between privacy and openness, respecting the individuality of the couple while maintaining a sense of unity throughout the space.
The social areas were redesigned to create a seamless experience between different environments. The living room, TV room, dining area, and gourmet space flow effortlessly together, enhancing the sense of openness and encouraging social interaction. Carefully curated materials ensure not only aesthetic sophistication but also efficiency for daily use.
Millwork plays a fundamental role in the project’s identity, blending precision with lightness. A natural oak wood bookshelf with integrated lighting becomes a focal point, adding depth and warmth to the living space. Custom-designed built-in elements integrate seamlessly into the architecture, reinforcing visual continuity and the overall cohesion of the project.
In the kitchen, the central island in Dekton, with waterfall edges on both sides, creates a functional yet visually striking element. In the gourmet space, an exclusively designed table was developed to fit perfectly against the countertop, establishing a composition that balances aesthetics and practicality. This relationship between the two elements fosters versatility, allowing for different configurations—whether for hosting friends or enjoying more intimate meals.
Lighting goes beyond its functional role, shaping the atmosphere of each space. The lighting design combines linear profiles, recessed spots, and adjustable fixtures, allowing for different moods throughout the day. In the nearly six-meter-high ceiling, a collection of lantern-style pendants floats elegantly, casting a subtle interplay of light and shadow that enhances the sense of warmth.
The selection of freestanding furniture was guided by a balance between orthogonal and curved forms, creating a subtle contrast that brings dynamism to the space. The Dolomite Armchair, designed by Gabriela Casagrande, introduces the organic shapes of Paraná’s mountain formations into the apartment, blending ergonomics with refined aesthetics. Sofas, tables, and benches complement the composition with well-proportioned designs and tactile textures that enhance the overall coziness. In the gourmet space, the integrated table encourages lingering, fostering connection and conversation between residents and guests.
The project embraces natural light and ventilation, optimizing thermal comfort and enhancing the residents’ daily experience. The carefully selected materials follow a neutral palette and textures that evoke a sense of warmth and balance, creating an inviting and serene atmosphere. The expansive windows frame the captivating views of Barigui Park and the city skyline, seamlessly integrating the urban landscape into the everyday life of the apartment.
Sunrise Apartment reflects a thoughtful approach to contemporary living, where every design decision strengthens the harmony between space, function, and ambiance. The interplay of natural light, materials, and spatial integration defines a sensory experience that transforms daily life, offering a refined urban retreat where time can be appreciated with a sense of ease.
