The Garden of Thoughts
Kong Xiangwei Studio

Short description
The project is located in a scenic place in Shandong with river valley forests, springs and streams, Under the concept of respecting nature and minimal involvement in the site, Thoughts Garden is built with a set of pavilions which layout following the practice of Chinese landscape painting. Prioritizing the nature and forest into the first place, the plan layout is much more scattered only focusing on buildings and installations. their form of light steel structure without disturbing nature conveys the poetic thoughts of Tang Dynasty and returns to a natural and distant aesthetic style.
Thought garden takes "lightness" as a construction posture, completing the lines with steel. Pavilions and installations are connected through corridors and footpaths from different heights to realize the walking of different heights of forests, tea fields, and treetops, creating a sense of lofty interest and emptiness. In the “Theater Outside Things", the view in the forest is implicit and natural, while the open tea room stage offers an open-minded feeling; the "Xiaoyao Pavilion" conveys elegance and lightness; the “Transcendent Pavilion" is a combination of vigorous and broad-minded. People experience the closest contact with nature while walking in between the garden.
