Short description

" Ekbatan town" was built before the 1979 Iranian Revolution by an American company as a modern mass settlement in western Tehran. Nowadays, Ekbtan is a popular accommodation option for the majority of people in the Iranian capital. The landscape of Ekbtan is designed to combine nature and modern life. The structure is also an urban attraction for movie sets and curious photographers.

During a photo walk, the photographer discovered the emergency stairwells next to the circulation point of each building's block. The character of the place suddenly changed abruptly as one climbed the steps, from a conventional neighborhood to a dark, enclosed, and complex environment. After a while, the eye became accustomed to the darkness, and the photographer could see the imperfections of the buildings along with the leading lines and rhythms of the stairs. The stairs provided a small platform to move the camera and explore the conditions. By using a tilt-shift lens, the photographer was able to capture the architectural qualities in the images.

The staircase connected 12 levels of the building in an endless loop from top to bottom.
With each inch of camera movement, the staircase began to develop random, overlapping layers. While the visual elements are simple, the spiral lines and triangles formed complex visual arrangements. Collectively, they demonstrate a unique piece of urban structure.
