Short description

Since its establishment in 2015, UTRO Studio has excelled in landscape architecture, creation of unique public spaces and building restoration. Each project is special, and even though the office is still young and small, the team has already worked with a big number of bright projects. Ogorodnaya Sloboda Park, for example, is a perfect blend of natural and recreational zones in the city center; a tiny Cvet32 courtyard which has become a cozy outdoor living room; a distinctive renovation of the Manor building stands as a local architectural hallmark. With each public space designed, UTRO demonstrates a unique approach, leaving a lasting impression through their innovative design solutions.

UTRO team analyzes the context, offers notable solutions, and has extensive practical experience in their implementation. The studio involves partners in projects with different expertise: lighting design, landscape, transport, graphic design, navigation, along with engineers, artists, and experts in socio-economic research. UTRO strives to maximise natural elements in urban development, increase biodiversity and reduce resource consumption and also believes that it is really important to involve biologists, ecologists and other experts in the creation of green areas in the city. This will help to show a competent and sustainable approach to working with the environment around us and change the residents’ established thought patterns for the better.

In creating spaces for children UTRO adheres to the principles of educational urbanism and Reggio-pedagogy. A modern city is a source of knowledge, and urban space should be comfortable and interesting both for children and adults. Studio designs playgrounds which encourage learning and research, so that everyone can get involved in the game, and it is comfortable for children to join groups and create extraordinary game scenarios.

UTRO has been the recipient of DNA Paris Design Awards, LILA Awards, darc awards and others. Also, the studio got the prize for its project in LOOP Awards 2022.
