Eleven Eleven by Nina Magon Studio

Overview

Eleven Eleven redefines the contemporary cocktail lounge by creating an immersive environment where architecture, materiality, and atmosphere converge to celebrate craftsmanship, culture, and human connection. Designed as a destination rather than simply a place to dine or drink, the space evokes a sense of discovery, inviting guests into a layered, intimate experience that unfolds throughout the evening.

Inspired by the natural landscapes and rich artisan traditions of Mexico, the design balances organic forms with refined detailing to create an environment that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. Soft curves replace rigid geometry throughout the interior, from custom furnishings and sculptural architectural elements to organically shaped rugs, mirrors, and millwork. This fluid language establishes a sense of movement while encouraging conversation and comfort.

A defining architectural feature is the pair of custom dome structures that anchor the space. Positioned above the main bar and an adjacent built-in lounge, the domes draw inspiration from the monumental scale and carved forms of Mexican cenotes, creating dramatic focal points that establish rhythm and intimacy within the open floor plan. Venetian plaster envelops the walls and ceilings, adding depth, texture, and a handcrafted quality that responds beautifully to changing light throughout the day and evening.

Materiality plays a central role in shaping the guest experience. Warm woods, natural stone, aged metals, and tactile upholstery create a restrained yet luxurious palette that feels timeless rather than trend-driven. Custom wood furnishings, integrated architectural millwork, and bespoke lighting reinforce the project's emphasis on craftsmanship, while carefully balanced contrasts between matte and reflective surfaces add visual richness and depth.

Throughout the lounge, curated collections of authentic vintage Mexican pottery are displayed within custom niches, celebrating regional artistry while providing a meaningful connection to the project's cultural inspiration. Lush greenery introduces moments of softness, reinforcing the relationship between architecture and nature and contributing to the calming, immersive atmosphere.

Lighting was carefully choreographed to transform the mood as guests move through the space. Layered illumination highlights the rich textures of the materials while creating moments of intimacy around seating areas, allowing the architecture itself to become part of the experience. Every design decision, from the scale of the furnishings to the composition of the finishes, was intended to foster comfort, encourage lingering, and elevate social interaction.

Rather than relying on ornament, Eleven Eleven achieves its identity through thoughtful proportion, refined detailing, and a cohesive material narrative. The result is a hospitality environment that feels contemporary yet enduring, luxurious yet approachable, offering guests an experience where architecture, culture, and atmosphere come together to create a memorable destination.
