Rafael Gamo Portfolio

Rafael Gamo has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and graduated from the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City. Both cities have been the starting point where his work has evolved, fluctuating between the local and global scales. For the last 15 years, his work has focused on photographing contemporary architectural practices worldwide, ranging from large-scale public works to intimate interiors.

His photographs are not intended to merely be a document about the subject he is photographing. They tend to be more the reflection of the connections between different parts of it, constantly looking for coincidences, patterns, contrasts, ambiguities, fleeting moments. His work tells stories about intangible things that are not in the frame… and this is where the viewer is the one that needs to step in and fill in the gaps.
